Wordless Wednesday but with words!

I thought this would be a great chance to put up some pictures from our weekend away.

First we had to get ready to go down south and pick up a few things at the store.
{Or should I say, my sweet hubby ran into the store for me since I wasn't feeling up to walking due to the pregnancy. I was lucky and got to sit and enjoy the sunshine for a few minutes!}

We made it to the hotel, no problem! Can I just say, the Bellevue Hyatt is amazing?!!
Hello luxury!!

Not your average coffee maker!

Hello ten luxurious beautiful pillows on the bed!
{I could so get used to this!}

The next morning started out pretty good!!
{Java Chip amazingness}

There were many good sessions.
In fact, I am totally holding onto my session notebook.
Oodles of good practical applications for our marriage.
The event we attended was Family Life's Weekend to Remember.
We had heard so many good things about it,
including high recommendations from family & friends who had attended.
There was laughter. So much laughter!
It wasn't what you'd think of with a typical "marriage conference."

Oh not even.

First of all, you're staying at the Hyatt. Can you get any more romantic than that?!
Then, the speakers they had were really really good.
The stories they told were so easy to relate to and often
the room would erupt into laughter because wow- we've been there too!!

Dare I say it was fun?! It really was. You could ask Josh too.

There were lots of things said that just got you thinking,
"Yeah.. you know, that is so true. I could definitely apply that to my life!"

There were so many good projects to work on together
and individually too
{Love letter from my dear husband}

Saturday night was date night.
We explored the town,just for fun.
{Hello Bellevue!}
I was thankful my annoying {pregnancy-related} ligament/muscle pain was mostly gone!
Not fun to be stuck in the hotel room on your vacation!!
We ate at Cheesecake Factory
but were way too full to get any cheesecake!!
So instead we went to see the Hunger Games.
{$3 ring on clearance at Pier One! Check it!!}
{My new fave picture of us!}

These are two things I would love to have someday!
A girl can dream, right?
And maybe just keep an eye on Pier One's clearance?! :)
Instead I just spent $11 on three beautiful unique pieces of jewelry-
 two necklaces and the ring above.

All in all, what a great weekend it was.
We came away feeling so rejuvenated
{Ok maybe a little worn out too ;-) }
We were able to work through many things
and felt like our marriage had new life & purpose breathed into it.

If you are looking for a great getaway,
I would highly recommend checking out
the Weekend to Remember.
It's in many locations nation-wide, multiple times a year.
More info here.
No matter where your marriage is at,
whether newly married, doing pretty good,
or on the brink of "I'm done"
it's beyond worth it.

And, better yet, you can get one registration free
if you go to www.retailmenot.com
and enter www.familylifetoday.com in the url code.
There are always tons!
Not to mention, the hotel will be discounted because of all the conference guests!
And, if you're into more of the romantic cruise kind of thing, they have that too!

Andrew stayed with my dad while we were gone.
He apparently had a pretty good time!
He got to ride his bike for the first time!

And got to check out a super cool firetruck

{Pictures courtesy of my awesome dad}
How cute is he?! He even got to keep that hat! And has wanted to wear it every day since!

Ahh can't forget the tasty honey we got to pick up on the way home.
Soo good. I could eat it by the spoonful.
There are live bees in that container!
They have a warning sign on it to NOT lift the lid!!
Pretty fresh stuff :)

So back to reality!!
Guess what Andrew decided to do this morning?
Yeah... remove every single couch cushion.
How does all that stuff even get down there?!
Definitely wasn't on my to-do list to clean before work, but hey!
I did find Josh's missing Best Buy gift card his work gave him as a Christmas gift
and my 8 Gig memory card! (Those CF ones are expensive!!)
So it wasn't that bad all in all :)

Today I came up with a sketch for some fun inexpensive DIY ideas
to redeco our bedroom! It really needs it!!!
This is my idea:
Pretty fabric headboard, with possible photos or art,
faux canopy made with curtain rods & sheer fabric, new comforter,
and maybe some little wall shelves for flickerless candles.
What do you think?

Of course I didn't mention the plan for the room includes getting the
laundry all dealt with or washed and the clutter all gone!!
Hmm maybe I should clean out all the junk underneath the bed so I can actually utilize the space?!

Happy Wednesday!!!

{P.s. I am at 99 followers!!! 99!! If you want to make my day, feel free to follow me & I will gladly follow you back!}

  4. Our speakers were really funny too at the WTR :o)
    One of my friends has posted a picture of stuff she did to their room, she had the sheer curtain gauzy thing too and added some white christmas lights throughout it.  It looked really pretty.  You'll have to post pictures of your finished product!
    So glad you guys had a good refreshing time at the conference!
