Bits of Sweetness: Midnight musings

Midnight musings

Ok so it's actually way past midnight. More like 2:17 am. I'm kindof getting used to it. It seems to be the time Adrian is the most active. (Can you say gymnastics?!) I know that some day (er.. some year..) I'll get caught up on sleep.
Maybe. :) (Hard part of parenting that is still worth it!) Anyways... thoughts on my mind.

* "Updating the photography tips page"is  finally off my to-do list. Some of those photos were from years ago. And while I liked them just fine, I had a bunch more photos accumulated in the following two years' time that were just begging to go in instead. Edited the post some, added in some new photos and good tips, and voila. Ever want to take better photos but have no idea how (or just feel overwhelmed when you look up tips on Google?) Start here! (I was even nice and summed up in the very beginning for you!) You can check out the updated page here.

*I am such a procrastinator with things that shouldn't be procrastinated on! (like, oh, you know, school.) I love that they give credit for assignments turned in late. In fact, the procrastination side of me adores this. Maybe a little too much. (Hey in all fairness, I got everything but one assignment turned in on time!) This week though thankfully there is not that option as it's the last week of these two classes and everything must be in by midnight! Other things like pictures, or playing games with Andrew, or even, seriously, cleaning, just seem so much more fun! (and yet, maybe it's not "fun" or enjoyable due to leaving it til last minute! Ha! Priorities!)

*I got a new book. A pink book. One that is a Bible. Because, I've been needing one I can highlight, and add notes to (not all have the space for notes!). Our Bible book outlet had a fantastic sidewalk sale and I found one for only $15. Beautiful pink duo tone cover! Sooo many great little devotionals and thoughts sprinkled throughout and a concordance in the back to easily look up verses. I am not one who toots their little horn over how much time is spent studying or how many verses are memorized. That kind of stuff doesn't matter to me, because you can do all that but if you don't apply it, it doesn't matter at all! No, to me, I love having this Bible that I can mark up with notes and highlights because I am now way motivated to do a new project- randomly opening it and finding a good verse I like. Believe it or not, I have it sitting on my makeup case in the bathroom with a highlighter. And, (oddly enough you may think) look forward to my time of randomly flipping it open and finding one verse to highlight (which sometimes turns into more.) That book is full of good stuff. Kindof like a great fortune cookie or inspirational quote, but better. (And if you are going, 'Yeah yeah yeah... ok moving on..." just hang on a second.
Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

People search a lifetime for that peace. God has it. I can tell you, it's not easy to give up the worry wart. But the peace afterwards? Wow. Just.. wow.

Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, But a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

You know how much difference a joyful outlook makes? It affects your health as well! People who are full of joy tend to live a longer life too.
While many associate the Bible with guilt and/or some judgmental stuff, it's actually for me a great go-to guide for life. No guilt. Just motivation to do what's right and a reminder of how much love one Person has for me. Can't beat that, can you?

Prov. 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.
Love. Always. Good reminder for me.

Other things on my mind:

*It's amazing what bright fun nail polish can do for the soul! Even more fun is switching it up and doing 2 alternating colors on the toesies.

*I am loving these little cabins!! What a great way to save money ;-) (Ok that is half-sarcastic! They are pretty cute though!)

*Thankful for a working interview on Tuesday!
And a long weekend!! (and hubby's payday today!!!! Yay!!)

Good night, or, good morning, all :)

  1. As long as I don't go to bed when he is awake around 2-4 am I'm good!! He is getting MORE and more active!! I try to be positive! My husband sees a lot more of complaining about the little stuff (I am way too efficient! If something is unefficient, I get annoyed that it's that way, when it could be improved, thus saving me time & irritation buuuut lol life isn't all about not being annoyed! Sometimes it's important to learn too ;-) ) I try to look at the positive though so it's not one big huge complain fest!

  3. I hope you are managing to get some sleep when your little future gymnast sleeps!
I think you seem like a very happy person and it shows through in your personality :)
