Bits of Sweetness: Thankful Thursdays

Thankful Thursdays

Today is one of those days where it's really hard to think of what I'm thankful for(or maybe it's not wanting to think of anything). And, I know that sounds bad. Usually I can find something to be thankful for quite easily. Today was just.. blah, as my husband would put it when he's just not in the mood. Pregnancy insomnia(no sleep! yay!) + Andrew up around 6am crying cause he wanted me to make him breakfast before he got up + more fussiness and fits as the day went on due to not wanting or liking anything I made/did/came up with for him + an entire (full!) bag of Trix intentionally being dumped all over the living room + my laptop screen not working at all for 1/2 an hour,thinking it had died + feeling so overwhelmed at the things I'm behind on (mainly school- it doesn't ever pause) and the many many things on the to-do list that I can't take off + yeah... the list just goes on. For just today! Here's what I am thankful for though.

*a comfy bed for the times I do happen to catch some sleep
*a son who has quite the imagination (even if it means Trix covering the entire floor!)
*sunshine today
*actually getting flowers ordered and cards sent out for our moms for Mothers Day on time (rarety!!)
and  making it to the Post Office before it closed! (with,ahem.. all of 2 minutes to go!!!)
*having the ability to feel emotions (even if right  now I'd really rather just bite someone's head off or something rather than appreciate the fact that I can feel a range of emotions.)
*These fabrics I got ordered today to make cute skirts for summertime for myself and a friend who's also expecting.
(the top and bottom fabrics are for me. The 2nd one is for a friend, and the grey is going to be a few inches of trim on all the skirts if they're too short) Can't wait to show you guys how they turn out!
*Thankful for inspiring thoughts. This one today: Lowering expectations is better than chocolate!
(Great article on adoption talking about how sometimes, a certain expectation just isn't going to work, as nice as it would be. Rather than attempting to enforce it, not seeing it happen, and getting majorly frustrated, enough to down a whole bag of Dove Promises, instead just choosing to let it go. Sometimes it really is going to be ok. I know I tend to get hung up on the little stuff that really does not matter.) {As for the inspiration for today- I made a goal for myself to learn something inspiring or interesting every day.}
*Last but not least, I'm thankful for good music like this and this.I've been replaying it all day as well as his other songs.  It helps these icky days at least a little.

 {And now to go take a nice long bubble bath. It is calling my name. Along with reading some of this amazing book.}

  5. I think it's okay if you can't always find something to be thankful for.  But you did a great job with finding things.  Sometimes it's about being thankful for the smallest things like skirt fabrics ;o)
