Bits of Sweetness: To be a Mama

To be a Mama

Four years ago, this little one made me a Mama.
He has forever changed me.
I am so in love with...
His tender heart.
His running start big hugs.
The spontaneous, "I love you SO much!" and accompanying hand squeezes.
His smiles.
His unconditional love.
How quick he is to forgive.
The "I missed you SO much!!" even though I only ran to the store.
His sensitive spirit.
His utter delight in the simplest things.
His love of learning-
all drawing out someone I never knew until he was born.
I love you Andrew Steven.
as you put it, "So, SOOOO much."
I love you a million m& ms, and to the moon and back.
I love your laugh. And your smile.
I love how much you love Jesus
and want to shine for Him, showing His love to others.
I love your giggles, and all your fun plans that you think up.
I love your creativity and imagination.
This is our last Mother's Day together, just us.
I tear up a little at that (selfishly)
but know that our family will be even more beautiful next year
when we have Adrian to celebrate too.
I am also thankful for the one who gave me life.
My own Mom!
and so many memories in my own childhood.
She made celebrations so fun and important,
and put so much effort into making memories for us
whether is was a hike, or a picnic, or a long trip.
I love the love she's given me for others and for life itself.
I'm thankful for being able to just pick up the phone and call her,
and not have to rely on slow mail.
 {My Mom, Andrew & I, three years ago on Mother's Day.}
Happy Mother's Day Mom!

I'm thankful for a wonderful Mother-in-love (as she calls it!)
And for her so willingly accepting me as her own daughter.
It's a blessing to have gained another sweet relationship
rather than one of *those* stories you hear about!
{All of us at their wedding two years ago- Josh's brother Ben, Tim, Andrew,
my Mom-in-love, me, & Josh}

This Mother's Day, my heart is over-flowing with love and gratitude.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms, Grandmas, and special women out there!
Enjoy your day!!
Our special plans include the special breakfast at church that the guys make
every year for the ladies (which everyone gets to enjoy too :) ), and then just enjoying some
togetherness afterwards. (Plus a photoshoot I scheduled, forgetting it was Mother's Day!
But, that's ok!! It's at the beach! I can't complain there!)

Happy Mothers Day! this is so sweet - I've been a mom for 25 years now...and yet I remember what you describe with your little one like it was yesterday. There has been no greater gift than being 'made into a mama' - I love the way you capture it!
