Bits of Sweetness: Friday's letters (on a Sunday!)

Friday's letters (on a Sunday!)

I can't help but chuckle a little at writing "Friday's letters" on a Sunday because it is so me- outside the box, doing my own thing. :)

Dear sunshine,
 I keep breaking out in this song over your absence. And in all fairness, I'm not complaining about your absence because I actually like the cloudy and rainy days too. They make for a nice balance. But, I do have to say your presence cheers my soul.

Dear Jordan,
Your videos make my week. Seriously. Ever wonder what all this YOLO stuff floating around everywhere means? Yeah me too. So go watch his latest video. This one on internet cliches is another fave of mine(although I confess I am totally guilty of #1!!). And then check out his channel and all the other great videos he's done. He makes one almost every Monday. I'm admittedly subscribed to this channel.

Dear Adrian,
We are very curious what your personality and energy level is going to be like! Your brother was like a sleepy little bear cub and would just stretch and stretch. You, however, are doing gymnastics inside. Forget about stepping on my bladder. No, you bounce with each little foot back and forth on it many many times! And are generally allll over the place! I'm curious because Andrew was all sleepy and stretchy for the most part before birth, but after birth was as hyper as you are now as he got older! So, I have to wonder if you'll be the opposite after?! We shall see!! You don't know it, but you got to go to a car show today! Cars are mama's thing. Forget the heels and Coach purses. If anything makes my heart beat faster, it's a sweet car. :D I loved this one with its bright blue teal color and classic look.
I cannot believe I am going to be six months next Sunday! Where did the time go?! I found a bunch of cute winter & summer outfits for you on clearance at Daddy's work. (Hahaha I know you probably won't even care about that! Boys and clothes... go together like oil and water!) You may not care too much but I know I will enjoy seeing you in them! I cannot wait to have another little one filling our lives with joy. Your brother was not an easy baby sleepwise, (can you say up every 45 minutes all.night.long. Take an hour to get back to sleep? Up 45 minutes later?! Oh yes. For three months.) so I think after that, nothing really phases this mama! I guess especially after working with so many kids, managing lots of kiddos' needs just comes naturally. I love it. Andrew is already planning and very excited about all the things you will get to do with us from snuggling together on the bed,  to going to the park with us. It is so sweet.

Dear small town where we live,
I sure didn't think I would, but, I love living here and getting to know you! I love the strolls we take down the roads with the beautiful historic homes. I appreciate the rich history the town has and the many fun events that celebrate that history. I love that the tellers at our bank adore our son and greet him by name with a little goody bag each time we go (and if I happen to not have him along, I sure better have a good reason for them! They love their little buddy! And always send me off with a little package for him!) There is something so nostalgic and sweet about living in a small town, from the slower pace, to the way strangers strike up a conversation, to the random but fun thrift store down the block to the diner (named for the owner, and still operated by him too!) painted a fun bright eggshell blue, lined with vintage soda bottles, and offering the best onion rings ever. Ahh. I am looking forward to all the upcoming events around the fourth of July! We have one of the biggest celebrations for the Northwest right in our town!

Dear JC Penneys,
Thank you for your new pricing system. Thank you also for bumping up the associate discount! We really really like that! I made the dangerous mistake of stopping "just for a second" to check out your shoes and then it grabbed me. The baby section. With it's beautiful "Starting at $4" sign! (Which, we get even more off of!) And.. ahh.. the beauty of buying ahead. Love it. These are some favorites!
{All of these were just $3 each!!}

Dear pedicure,
You felt amazing to get. However, amazing you were not being partly rubbed off of my big toe not even an hour later!! (Still have no idea how I managed to do that one?!) Amazingly, I had some of the same exact color polish at home (just more glittery) so it was an easy fix!
{Shoes from Penneys! :) Just $10!}

Dear Mustang,
Two words- Yes. Please!

Dear Andrew,
I can't believe how much you are growing! You ate two almost adult-sized portions of our breakfast scramble the other day! I seriously need to get you a growth chart! I keep meaning to but keep forgetting! I love how you wrote "bat" this weekend, all on your own. You've moved from Starfall's ABCs to loving the Learn to Read section even more. You were so proud of yourself, making words, and wanted to print off your reward sheet. Today, you coordinated a playdate with your Papa all on your own! It was so cute to see you going back and forth finding out if he was off work, then finding out if it was ok. The way your eyes light up.. it is priceless.

Dear PNW Blogger friends,
I am SOoo bummed I did not make it down to the meetup!! Sometimes life is just like that! And the best you can do is decide to smile and make the changes as awesome as you can (even though sometimes it takes work!!!). I hear there is going to be one in Seattle coming up next year!!!! I will for SURE be there!!

And for now, that is all. I am off to go enjoy the rest of my (healthy!) chocolate custard.

xoxo

  1. Hehe I know huh! I surprise a lot of people with what I love and am like. But that's me! So outside the box! Where we live is so pretty and small town. I love it, but only because it's just an hour from the big city!

  3. I never would have picked you for liking cars!
    Cute post, I loved reading about where you live, it sounds so adorable :)
    Liam used to bounce around like that all the time, I thought he was going to be a hyperactive child but he isn't :)  So you could get the opposite lol
    Great finds with the baby clothes, it is addictive shopping for babies, I have learnt to curb my expenditure, but with my first, oh my!!!
