Bits of Sweetness: Thankful Thursdays

Thankful Thursdays

Posting a day early because who knows- he could be here any day!!! And I promise you, that as wonderful as you dear friends (and family) all are that getting a blog post out isn't going to quite be the first thing on my mind basking in the moment of having a newborn. So. Day early post. Capiche? :)

This week, thankful for-

finally taking the time to get the Moby wrap figured out! Still can't believe I figured it out the first time watching the video through! Normally? I have to pause and re-watch parts of a tutorial over. And over. And over. All the while going "HUH?!" and ready to kill the instructor. (ok not quite.... but...) All the while getting more and more frustrated at why in the world something would be so stinking complicated. But this? Wow. I actually got something. Kindof like Dory remembering something? Yeah. That is me. Anyone else feel my pain?!

things that unexpectedly turn out good. So our couch we donated in the last post? Yes well... we thought we had one to replace it! We had found a futon for a steal of a deal. Turns out though, the people didn't want to hold onto their futon for forever and didn't have our number so, they re-sold it. Total bummer huh? :( I was looking forward to having a nice(r!) futon. Kindof weird feeling to know your couch is getting picked up the next day and you have nothing to replace it with. But. The more we thought about it, the more we realized that the extra space might not be a bad thing. It ended up working out just fine, and we now have room for a new set of shelves, the baby swing, and the toy chests all where the old (super long) couch used to be. It's amazing how one change can make such a difference. I think I'm (finally!) over missing it.

my brother getting military leave after A-school graduation to come here for ten days. We miss him a lot. I am looking forward to seeing him and spending time with him, even if all we do is sit around and talk or watch a movie. (although,plans are in the works to go bowling. Should be interesting since my high score is like, 90! lol. No joke. Maybe we'll get gutter guards for Andrew ;-) Plans are also in the works to go find some of our favorite fry sauce that is supposedly sold at a store about an hour away. Dude. I miss that stuff! After living in Utah, I miss it!! And you'd have to live in Utah to know what I'm talking about ;-) Home made just doesn't cut it! Arctic Circle and Some Dude's Fry Sauce is where it's at! ) Ok back to my brother. I am glad he's coming. He's a great excuse to have some fun :)  It will be so much nicer than texting or Skype (as nice as those are!) Currently he is (and has been) at the top of the class. I am so proud of him.

my hubby making me laugh, even if it's unintentional on his end. Other night, we both decided that it was about time to install the baby carseat in the car (it's been a while!!) So, I asked Josh if he'd go put it in the car. Later, I went to go somewhere and had to chuckle at his interpretation of that. The carseat was in the car.. sideways?! And, on top of some books. He really had just put it in the car! Made me laugh. {It's in right now ;-) }

getting our library fines paid off! And SO glad they were just $9.40! I have the worst memory ever and I don't know about you, but something is almost always late! This time it had been several movies (they have this weird 4-day checkout policy instead of something even and nice like a week!) I was thankful it wasn't more. I picked up a few books to hopefully read! The irony of technology is that, while I have a smart phone, it just doesn't have the space for an e-reader app, (not to mention the screen is a little small) so, I have to "resort" to real books. Such a tragedy, isn't it? ;-) Any good book recommendations for me? I am seriously going to try to get at least one book read... maybe... (maybe I'll just laugh at my noble efforts and call it good ;-) )

for our vacuum cleaner. But, really. Not loving that it killed my big toe. Nor that it did a number on the cute nail polish job on it. Boo :(( I even got pretty flowers painted on this time. I never get those! My luck I guess! Maybe I'll just go on a vacuum strike.

for our doula. Really. I don't know how I would be feeling so confident about this whole natural-birthing-birth-center thing without her. It's not just her, but she has surely played a huge part in it. That and helping me realize that strength does not come from me. It comes from Him. And, if I focus on that, it will help put everything in perspective. Also working on the birth playlist. What songs did you like during labor?

And.. I almost just signed my name. I am SO used to writing letters lately with the sweet penpals I have. Oops ;)

Happy Thursday (on a Wednesday ;-) )
