Bits of Sweetness: Easy Cracker Toffee Bars

Easy Cracker Toffee Bars

These are one holiday recipe you need to know. You know why? They are easy, delicious, and almost cheater toffee! You'd never know the main ingredient is saltine crackers something salty and yummy and in almost every pantry. I am giving these as gifts to several people this year and have admittedly eaten probably way more than my fair share :D After several requests for the recipe, I decided to kindly do a blog post on them so you can enjoy them too!

Cracker Toffee Bars

1 c. salted butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 sleeve saltine crackers
2 c. chocolate chips (milk or dark)

Preheat oven to 400 F

Arrange saltines in a single layer in a 9x13 pan. It's fine to use broken pieces to make the layer. Boil butter and brown sugar on medium heat for three minutes. Pour over saltines. Bake for five minutes in the oven. Pull out and pour 2 c. chocolate chips over. Let sit until chocolate is soft/melted. Use spatula to spread chocolate over bars. Allow to set in the fridge until cold. Break into pieces (although, I used a knife since the carmel was a little sticky). Package and give as a thoughtful sweet gift to someone (and enjoy a little while you're at it!)

  1. I made these a couple of weeks ago. So good!

  2. I have all of these ingredients on hand, I will have to try. :)

Your kindness in leaving a comment truly makes my day!
