Bits of Sweetness: Easy holiday ornaments

Easy holiday ornaments

I love being crafty around the holidays, but with two little ones at home, time can sometimes be short! Before I know it, my great ideas have become lost amidst the wrapping paper, holiday plans and special goings-on. This year I wanted to add more of a homemade touch to our tree and decided to make these pretty cinnamon ornaments. They are super easy to make and better yet make your house smell incredible.
Cinnamon Ornaments
Ingredients: 1 c. applesauce
1 c. cinnamon + few extra TBS

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.
Slowly add applesauce to the cinnamon until you have a ball of dough
Dust a flat surface & your rolling pin with cinnamon
so the dough doesn't stick when you roll it out.
Roll to 1/2 inch thick (approximately. You just don't want it too thin.
You can make as thick as you'd like.)
Cut out shapes & using a toothpick, add holes for ornament hooks.
Bake at 200 degrees F for one hour.
Decorate with white craft paint if desired
Enjoy! (but don't eat!!)

  1. This is great Laura! I am going to try this with my preschool kids. I just made an easy craft with them on Friday. Go to my link at www.aunttamishouse.blogspot.com You can make another homemade craft for under $5 too.
