Bits of Sweetness: Aiyla's Song

Aiyla's Song

Things you never think you will be doing:

Writing a blog post about losing your 2 1/2-month old daughter. This is a blog post I'd rather not write, but at the same time, it just doesn't do our sweet baby girl justice to leave out a post celebrating her incredible life. The funny thing about pain is that in trying so desperately to avoid it, we miss seeing the complete masterpiece formed by all the broken pieces. Love fills in the cracks. We really don't feel the fullness of it without the cracks. Getting through it though is so very hard.

This is one of those posts that is just tough to write. There's not really any way to sugar-coat it. We found our Aiyla girl unresponsive after a nap. We've had a lot of questions as to what happened. SIDS is the only reason for any of it. We just don't know. They tried hard to get a pulse but could not. She went to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 15th 2017. She was 2 1/2 months old. Oh baby girl, you are never going to stop being a part of us.

Aiyla had so much incredible joy in her short life. Her days were numbered and she was loved so much. I have no regrets about the moments we spent (We had so many!) and the memories we made.

Sometimes I have no other words, and this is one of those moments. I'm just going to leave it at this. We have walked through a lot already and I know there is more even still. "Through it all, my eyes are on you, and it is well, with me."

If any of you would like to help our family, a page has been set up here by friends.
